The ability to control web access is key to improved productivity and avoid various liability issues. The EdgeXOS and its web content filtering solutions block inappropriate websites, filter sites that contain viruses, malware and spyware, and allow or prevent access to specifically defined sites.

The web content filtering system deployed by XRoads Networks is delivered via three different methods, including: Global EdgeXOS content filtering with address-based grouping for granular content control, realtime URL lookups with Webroot database integration, and global per-user client-based filtering protection.

Over 85% of online malware infections comes from the Internet and many come from perfectly legitimate website which have been indfected without the knowledge of the website administrator.

XRoads Networks web content filtering solutions have the ability to prevent malware and spyware infections from simple web surfing, and include a host features to control and manage access to the web and web content. Some of the integrated features of the EdgeXOS platform include:

Category Controls
Determine which categories should be blocked, including which types of applications/files. Block certain types of websites like "adult" or "shopping" and prevent access to specific files like "xls" or "zip". Choose from over 20 different pre-defined categories.

Custom URL Database
Network administrators can define their own allow and deny lists to control website access and better define an organizations specific policies. The web filter can also be configured to block all traffic and simply allow specific websites.

Live Site Reporting
The web filter has built-in reporting which provides the network administrator with information on who is making what web requests and when. View top web users and the top sites end-users are access. View the top websites accessed on a per user basis. All user reporting is generated based on the end-users IP address.

Remote / Mobile Workers
To protect remote workers the EdgeXOS cloud firewall solution includes a software client which enabled centralized control so no matter where or how the user is connected to the Internet, the same protections can be applied which are applied when they are connected to the office network.

Global Web-Based Remote Management
A unique global management system allows a network administrator to control all of your remote and/or teleworkers without having to deploy an EdgeXOS appliance in front of every remote worker. By using specialized mobile software clients web requests can be forced through a centralized system for inspection, control and reporting.

This system also provides time-based access control, bandwidth management, and full access control per-user.
